Once a World War I-era army training camp, Camp Logan is rich in history, like much of this area. Some chunks of concrete, many building foundations, and extensive trenches used for training or middens still remain in the heavily-forested park. Many of the trails through the park in this area trace the routes of old Camp Logan roads. One stretch of a Camp Logan road remains in original condition, that being the shell-surfaced service road to the golf course. Camp Logan borders the Crestwood neighborhood, near Memorial Elementary School.
Camp Logan's residents are outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy having Memorial Park as an oversized backyard, with amenities such as: jogging, road, and mountain bike trails, tennis, golf, swimming, skating, and picknicking. There is also a large play area host to many special and fun events for the entire family, as well as, public fields for baseball, softball and kickball leagues.
